The software covered here is restricted to that described and supported in Acorn Publisher magazine. Essentially graphics, desktop publishing and web design software. For each piece of software we'll give links to the developer and/or publisher, help pages and to reviews and tutorials published in Acorn Publisher magazine. Over time some of the older Acorn Publisher information may be published in AP On-line but most will continue to be available direct from us.

HTML Studio is a suite of web page authoring and design programs including HTMLEdit. Producing web pages with WYSIWYG programs must always be suspect and writing HTML by hand is an unecessarily difficult task. HTML Edit allows easy design of web pages including forms, tables and simple link and image-checking. The Studio also includes a full web designer's toolkit and browser.

Acorn Publisher will be taking a look at HTML Studio in the near future.
The latest vector graphics program for RISC OS. It has some very advanced features, especially with regard to colour matching form screen to page. It was a long time in gestation but has recently had a cut in price bringing a top-end piece of software into many people's price range.
Prior to the recent price cut one of our reviewers stated that "In real terms, at less than two thirds the price of its closest peer, Vantage is underpriced". Both reviewers agreed that Vantage was just one tool in a designer's set of tools.

Acorn Publisher reviewed Vantage in volume 8 issue 2 and an early tutorial series - Vantage: first steps by Mike Williams - was published in:
6:3 - introduction,
6:4 - line drawing,
6:5 - shapes & fancy fills,
6:6 - transformation,
7:1 - colour system and
7:2 - import/export of bitmaps.
We expect to produce further tutorials for Vantage in the coming year.
